Believe me, driving in the traffic of Rome surrounded by monuments, it’s a real Italian experience that you will never forget! Rome has many excellent museums where you can admire all kind of masterpieces of different periods, ranging from ancient Rome, to Renaissance, baroque etc. Many of them are hosted in palaces of popes or of noble roman families. Sometimes when you visit a collection of statues, paintings and particular objects you can also visit luxuries bedrooms, ball rooms, private chapels, etc. There is so much to discover, contact me, tell me your taste and I will advise you the museums that suits you better.
If you want to get an idea of how ancient Roman towns were, I advise you to book a tour to visit Ostia Antica which was the first Rome’s city port. Here you will be able to admire an amphitheater (still in use during the summer), temples, baths, houses, shops and even the oldest synagogue in Europe, some of them still decorated by marbles, mosaics and frescoes and to learn about the history and the life style of their inhabitants.
Castelli Romani is an enchanting area very close to Rome dominated by the presence of two historical volcanic lakes, Albano and Nemi. This is an area of great historical and architectural value where the scenery is remarkably beautiful, not to mention the pleasure of savoring typical food and wine. You will follow me through Castel Gandolfo (famous for the pope’s summer residence) and Nemi where you can taste the best wild strawberries and learn about Nero’s gigantic roman boats...
Do you want to escape from the chaos of the city center? Then probably Via Appia Antica, better known as the Queen of Roads, is the right place! This road, engineered in the 5th century B.C. and created to connect Rome to the port of Brindisi on the Adriatic see, is still surrounded by nature and lined along all its length by ruins and roman villas.

As soon as you enter Rome you will notice straight away that there is a church at almost every corner. Rome counts indeed more than 900 churches of all different sizes, shapes and periods and a great deal of them are worth a visit because of a famous artist’s masterpiece, an incredible fresco, mosaics, some ancient ruins in the crypt and important relics. Villa D’Este is an amazing villa with the most beautiful Italian garden you would ever dream of, which of course appears in the Unesco list! This place has an impressive number of fountains of all shapes and sizes, water games, caves, ninfei and even music generated by water!
